Position: Staff Accountant

Department: Finance & Administration

Reports to: Controller

Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant position will have broad-based responsibility in multiple accounting areas including complete ownership responsibility for all AR and AP functions, as well as certain basic responsibilities for royalty revenue schedules, cash and month end close, JE preparation, fixed assets, sales & use tax, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations. The position will also be responsible for general office administration including ordering office supplies and weekly lunches, keeping beverages and snacks stocked, bank deposits and organizing company quarterly celebration and volunteer events.

  • Intermediate to Expert MS Office knowledge (especially Excel)
  • Proficient with online accounting software such as QuickBooks
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Strong communicator both oral and written
  • Energetic individual with a great work ethic and high integrity
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness and analytical ability
  • Self-directed individual who can work well as an individual contributor or as a team member
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of accounting experience

The Following Would Be Ideal:

  • Software / Technology industry experience
  • Revenue recognition experience
  • 1 – 2 years of AR collections experience
  • Experience with Fixed Asset systems
