Client is a market leader in providing G Suite classroom management solutions to support online and distance learning, with digital tools for learners and educators around the world.
The Challenge
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, schools around the globe closed their doors in early 2020, forcing administrators, educators, learners, and parents into an abrupt shift from traditional classroom learning to a nearly 100% online distance learning mode, literally overnight. This, in turn, has created a need for classroom management vendors to identify and implement solutions that provide the same functionality, yet in a safe and secure online environment for learners and educators to continue schooling remotely and meet required academic milestones.
The main goal for the Client was to create an online environment which would keep learners safe, organized, and engaged. Overall, the Client needed to provide educators with a classroom management solution which enabled them to set policies for their learners’ web usage during lessons and dedicated study sessions. This would empower educators to keep learners focused on their course work, off of gaming, social networking and other non-school related sites in order to help keep them engaged.
Business Requirements
Real-TimeThreat Protection. With safety being a top priority, the Client required a solution which would ensure that all their learners and instructors would be protected against any malicious or compromised websites, particularly those hosting phishing, fraud, spyware, malware, other exploits — all of which have spiked during the pandemic.
Detection and Blocking of Inappropriate or Objectionable Content. The Client serves educators and learners that range from kindergarten through grade 12 and require maximum flexibility in blocking Objectionable content. While certain types of content would be immediately blocked, like pornography, hate speech, etc., the Client also needed the classroom management solution to accommodate varying degrees of appropriateness based on age groups, curriculum, as well as cultural sensitivity.
Broad Language Support. Dynamic content categorization support of websites in nearly all languages was required.
