Mr. Mark Ryan Talabis is a seasoned security researcher, applications developer and published author in data collection and analysis.
Greenwood Village, Colorado – – zvelo, Inc., a leading “Data as a Service” provider for contextual categorization and malicious website detection, has announced the hiring of Mr. Mark Ryan Talabis as Chief Threat Scientist. Mr. Talabis will be instrumental in strengthening the company’s malicious website detection technologies and research efforts with an added emphasis on combating online advertising fraud.
“Ryan has a deep understanding and passion about the malicious detection industry and malware lifecycle,” noted Jeff Finn, CEO of zvelo. “We look forward to his immediate and comprehensive technical research and expert analysis to further enhance our online ad fraud and other malicious detection capabilities.”
Mr. Talabis was formerly the Director of the Cloud Business Unit of FireEye, Inc., lead Researcher and VP of Secure DNA and was an Information Technology Consultant for the Office of Regional Economic Integration of the Asian Development Bank.
He co-authored the book Information Security Risk Assessment Toolkit: Practical Assessments through Data Collection and Data Analysis and has presented at Blackhat, DEFCON, Shakacon, INFORMS, InfraGard, ISSA and ISACA. He has published papers in various peer-reviewed journals and is an alumni member of the Honeynet Project.
Mr. Talabis has a Master of Liberal Arts in Extension Studies, with a concentration in Information Technology, from Harvard University and a Master of Science in Information Technology from Ateneo de Manila University.
