Full-Path Categorization to Secure Social Collaboration Platform | zveloAPI
Compliance risk assessment platform company for audio, video, digital communication, and collaboration tools secures platform against malicious and objectionable content amid explosive usage due to Coronavirus pandemic.
Client is a provider of cloud-based video communications risk detection and assessment.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, over the last couple of months, companies across the globe have made a sudden and dramatic shift to working and learning remotely. This rapid transformation exponentially increased usage for audio, video, digital communication, and collaboration tools. The Company recognized early demand to expand the capabilities of its platform to detect and block malicious or objectionable content across collaboration and communications forums and services.
Trending data showed this to be a growing issue which led the Client to seek a solution which would enable its platform to detect and block any objectionable content as well as malicious links and threats being shared during collaboration and communications sessions. As time was of the essence, the Client sought an offering for a web classification database and service that could be quickly integrated.
Real-time URL Analysis
For the client, live threat intelligence and URL analysis was a key requirement to eliminate as many objectionable and malicious URLs as possible to maximize safety and security for remote workers and distance learners.
Comprehensive and Granular Full-Path URL Classification
The Client required a solution to provide URL categorizations at the base domain level, as well as for full-path domains which would cover page, post or article level. With reports of whitelisted sites increasingly being used to deliver malware combined with the sudden spike in users among remote access and collaboration tools, full-path categorization would be critical to obtain URL classifications that are granular enough to detect malicious and suspicious links that are embedded more deeply into a legitimate website’s page structure.
High Processing Volume and Scalability
Supporting some of the industries largest video marketing, conferencing, chat and audio tools with its platform meant high volume processing capabilities, performance, and scalability were crucial. Faced with skyrocketing usage of video marketing, video conferencing, video chat, and audio calls, the Client required a solution with a demonstrated history of performance.
API Platform Integration
The Client has existing integrations with dozens of the industry’s largest, and most popular conferencing and collaboration tools so integration capabilities were another key requirement in a solution. The Client desired a solution which offered a cloud-based API deployment that could be quickly and easily integrated.
Faced with an escalating problem, the Client recognized there was a very short window to get a solution in place to prevent any potential backlash from its client base. With little to no margin for error, the Client came straight to zvelo as the industry leader for web content classification and detection of objectionable, malicious and threat detection services.
The Client quickly determined that the zveloAPI would be the right fit to deliver on all the ‘must have’ requirements which would perform fast, accurate and granular categorizations to classify vast amounts of dynamic content at the page, post or article level.
“We are beyond pleased with our entire experience with zvelo – from the client experience to the API integration to the end results. We are confident that our platform is positioned to support the increased growth due to the spike in remote workers and learners.”
-Chief Technology Officer, Client
After finalizing the decision to move ahead with zveloAPI, the Client was quick to deploy the integration. To date, the Client sees positive results in terms of detecting and blocking potentially malicious and/or objectionable content passing through its platform — maximizing safety and security for all of its users. And, while it was not a primary goal, the Client is pleased to see a boost in what their platform typically identifies as compliance risks. In the end, the Client is well positioned to support the increased growth due to the spike in remote workers and learners and will have no trouble scaling their solution to meet future demand.
